Mayor Brown Announces Opening of Public Square Ice Skating Rink

Wilkes-Barre Mayor George C. Brown announced today that the opening of the Public Square Ice Skating Rink is scheduled for Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 12 PM. The rink will be open from 10 AM to dusk daily through March. It will be closed during inclement weather.
Skaters must bring their own skates and only ice skating is permitted on the synthetic rink.
The opening of the rink will include:
- Appearance by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins' own TUX
- Meet and Greet with Wilkes-Barre City Fire, Police, and Health Departments
- Skate with a Wilkes-Barre City Firefighter
- Hot Chocolate courtesy of Dunkin Donuts Wilkes-Barre
