Mayor George C. Brown Accepts Contribution to City from Children’s Service Center

Mayor George C. Brown recently met with Children’s Service Center CEO, Mike Hopkins. Mr. Hopkins presented a $27,200 contribution to the City from Children’s Service Center and its affiliate, Robinson Counseling Center.

“We are pleased to present the Mayor with this $27,200 annual contribution to say thank you and to show the Children’s Service Center and Robinson Counseling Center’s support for the Wilkes-Barre Police Force, Firefighters, road crews, sanitation crews and all those who work to care for and maintain the City”, said Mike Hopkins, President and Chief Executive Officer.

Children’s Service Center is a 159 year old nonprofit organization that has been serving children since the Civil War. The focus of the organization is behavioral and mental health issues. Their affiliate, Robinson Counseling Center (RCC), serves adults 18+.  During 2021, CSC and RCC served nearly 11,000 children, adolescents and adults through 20+ programs.  Their primary campus is in Wilkes-Barre with facilities located in Honesdale, Tunkhannock, Hazleton, and Danville.  Also, CSC hosts programs for children in 16 school districts throughout NEPA and Central PA.
